Betting Clemson Tigers

The Tigers logged their first ATS loss of the season in a 24-10 win over TAMU on Saturday. Clem entered that game as 16-point home chalk, per the best online sportsbooks. Moreover, starting QB Trevor Lawrence threw his first pick of the season. And running back Travis Etienne was held to just 53 rushing yards. Wide receiver Justyn Ross had to pick up the slack with 94 yards and one TD. Ditto rushing back Lyn-J Dixon with 79 yards and another TD. The defense also came through with one interception and two sacks. As well as holding TAMU as a whole to as many yards as their own Etienne had.

Deluded idiots like this one want to have you believe that it was not a close game. By Clemson standards, it was. And while it was “another defeat of Jimbo Fisher for Dabo and company”, it was by no means “a statement game”. and if anyone that matters does believe it was, then it’s time to wake up and smell the coffee. ‘Cuse is not to be taken lightly, and we’ll see why in a little bit.

According to the best sport betting sites, Clem is 6-0 ATS in their last six games on the road. 7-1 ATS in their last eight ACC games. 4-1 ATS in the last five games overall. And 1-5 ATS in their last six in the month of September.

Betting Syracuse Orange

The Orange got crushed 20-63 by Maryland last weekend. Syracuse were 1.5-point road dogs, so it goes without saying that they did not covered the spread. But I said it anyway, so there. Starting QB Tommy DeVito went 28 of 39 for 330 yards with three TDs and one pick. Not too shabby, but I always knew, from watching Goodfellas, that Tommy DeVito doesn’t fuck around. Additionally, wide receiver Trishton Jackson had 157 yards and two TDs on seven catches. Unfortunately, ‘Cuse got creamed in rushing, both offensively and defensively. The Orange gained just 70 yards on the ground while allowing 354 from Maryland that produced six scores.

Syracuse gave Clemson a run for its money last season. The Orange lost 23-27 to the Tigers, but 24.5-point underdogs, ‘Cuse covered the spread. And that is just about the only thing about which customers of the best sport betting sites care. Furthermore, Syracuse is one only two teams have managed to defeat the Tigers in the last couple of years. If you believe the Wall Street Journal, that 27-24 win in 2017 occurred because head coach Dino Babers “learned chess in third grade.” Isn’t chess nothing but glorified checkers?

“Once you hit the clock, if the opponent hasn’t moved by the time the clock moves, you get to have two moves in a row, which is a huge advantage,” Babers of chess. “We kind of play football that way.” No wonder the Orange finished 4-8 that 2017 season. Please, sir, do not compare my football to that last refuge of the pseudo-intellectual that is chess.

Clemson Tigers vs. Syracuse Orange Game Prediction

I was going to give Syracuse the benefit of the doubt. However, someone who takes chess seriously can’t be expected to take a real sport like football seriously. In other words, take the Clemson Tigers and the points. Check mate!
