Betting Ohio State Buckeyes

The Buckeyes are underdogs at the best College Football betting sites. A shortened Big Ten season and several scratched games kept us from having a good look at what the Buckeyes could. However, we now know what they are capable of, and so does Clemson.

Ohio State destroyed Clemson’s defense for 639 total yards in a 49-28 win in the Sugar Bowl. They were led by Justin Fields. He had 385 passing yards and six touchdowns. The junior QB posted those staggering stats though he played most of the game with banged up ribs after a hard hit to the midsection.

Even if Fields still isn’t feeling at full capacity in the national title game, he can still rely on Trey Sermon. He ran for 331 yards in the Big Ten final against Northwestern. Sermon then gained 193 yards on 31 carries against Clemson. And added another 61 yards on receptions. Preach on, Sermon!

Ohio State coaches and players were motivated by Tigers head coach Dabo Swinney, who ranked them 11th on his final coaches poll ballot. The Buckeyes have done great in the underdog spot for years. Per the best NFL gambling sites, they covered 19 of their last 26 games as dogs. That includes a 5-2 ATS record in bowl appearances.

Betting Alabama Crimson Tide

Wide receiver DeVonta Smith kept delivering the goods in the Rose Bowl. He caught seven passes for 130 yards and three TDs in Alabama’s 31-14 beatdown of Notre Dame. The Heisman Trophy finalist has 1,085 receiving yards and 16 touchdown recs in his last seven games.

Smith could be in line for another big performance against an OSU secondary that gave up the most passing yards per game in the Big Ten. Alabama’s 31 points against the Fighting Irish is the school’s lowest offensive production of the season. it came after three straight 50-point performances.

However, Bama might have taken its foot off the pedal a little after piling up an early 14-0 lead. As well as handing things over to their defense. A few weeks ago, they yielded 46 points in the SEC championship game against Florida. But in their last outing the Tide’s defense held their opponent to 17 points or fewer for the seventh time in the last eight games.

Unluckily for Alabama bettors, the Tide surrendered a touchdown in the last minute of the Rose Bowl to let Notre Dame slip in a cover as an 18.5-point underdog. The Crimson Tide are 4-7-1 ATS in their last 12 playoff games. That includes 0-4 ATS in their four Bowl Championship Game games.

Ohio State Buckeyes vs. Alabama Crimson Tide NCAAF Pick

Ohio State also has a professional-caliber QB and quick playmakers positions. OSU had Clemson’s defense on its toes all game long. It wouldn’t be surprised if the Buckeyes can score a decent quantity of points here. This feels like it is going to be back-and-forth. Like a shootout of a national title game. A game that could very well be decided in the fourth quarter. Take the Buckeyes and the points.
